Increase in mortgage approvals
Mortgage approvals rose over the three months to May 2013 according to the latest figures from the Bank of England.
The Trends in Lending report released today shows that number of house purchase approvals in May was the highest since December 2009, and that remortgaging also showed an increase.
Recent discussions with UK lenders are also reporting strong applications for June.
