UK professionals struggling to cover post Christmas Debt on sick pay
Professionals could struggle to meet the cost of post-Christmas debts if they have to take sick leave, according to a UK insurer.
According to research from PG Mutual, three-quarters of workers have suffered some form of ill health over Christmas and with the average family spending over £1000 on the festive season, this could leave workers struggling to make the debt repayments if they were only claiming statutory sick pay.
Mike Perry, Chief Executive of PG Mutual said it has “never been more important for those who rely on a regular monthly income to take preventative measures (such as insuring their income) to ensure that they can keep up their financial repayments.”
